The Village of Pemberton (VOP) is seeking funding to build a FIFA regulation-sized soccer field on its recreation lands on Pemberton Farm Road East.
The project would see the construction of a 64-by-100-metre grass field, and an amenity building that includes washroom and changeroom facilities, lights, a concession area, and bleachers.
Through generous contributions from community and federal partners, the Pemberton Soccer Field project will begin construction this summer. Situated on the recreation lands located on Pemberton Farm Road East, the grass soccer field will be constructed throughout the remainder of 2018 and open for use in Fall 2019.
TELUS and the Village of Pemberton are collaborating to bring the world`s most advanced communications infrastructure to residents and businesses in the area. In addition to TELUS` investment, the Village of Pemberton and the local development community are investing $250,000 to connect more than 90 per cent of homes and businesses in Pemberton directly to the gigabit-enabled TELUS PureFibre network. Planning work is currently underway, and TELUS anticipates connecting all new developments in the Village by the end of this year, and the remainder of homes and businesses in 2019.
Mayor and Council are pleased to announce that the Government of Canada has awarded $5.3 million dollars from the Federal Gas Tax Fund to the Village of Pemberton for downtown revitalization. MP Pamela Goldsmith-Jones announced this exciting news this afternoon, at the Downtown Community Barn.
Following the provincial funding announcement on March 21, 2017, the SLRD, Village of Pemberton and Lil’wat Nation are pleased to share the news that the Friendship Trail and Bridge, a vision 13 years in the making, is now fully funded. The Village of Pemberton Council awarded a tender for the bridge construction at their meeting last night, Wednesday 12 April, 2017.
